RESEARCH

Our mission is to address unmet synthetic needs to solve various problems of biomedical research. To this end, novel strategies to access natural and unnatural small molecules, as well as biopolymers, are being investigated. More specifically, we are developing target-oriented syntheses that can rapidly increase the molecular complexity of the desired therapeutics. At the same time, transition metal-based synthetic methods that should allow for the preparation of analogues of biologically important biopolymers are being explored. Eventually, the accumulated knowledge should serve to solve problems associated with important therapeutic issues, such as opioid addiction and antibiotic resistance.
